Road Conditions Today

Featured Replies

Hi,

Plans are set to leave Phuket tomorrow morning for Bangkok.

First choice route: Hwy. 4 to 44 Surat then north.

Second choice: Hwy. 415 - 401 to Surat.

Final option: Hwy. 4 through Ranong - Chumphon.

Does anybody have current info on these routes whether passable by a normal 2 wheel drive car; if flooded but passable; blocked by mudslide but able to detour etc.

Very much appreciate an update since I cannot find a current definitive answer anywhere on Thaivisa forums. Everything I've read is a couple of days old and all routes appear to be blocked or problematic. Buses are getting through to Phuket but I'm not sure what route they are taking. My decision to leave will be based on replies received here today.

The highway police have advised going Ranong - Chumphon route.

So I guess that's the route for tomorrow unless anybody can confirm a better route or advise against Ranong - Chumphon road for whatever reason.

I don't think my 2wd sedan is up to wading through the floods at Phun Phin.

yesterday 04 april road in Surat closed. advised route is Highway 4 Ranong

Info in Thai by Highwaypolice at phone 1193. Very busy yesterday, so we called 023546722

two bridges are being replaced on Highway 4, so temp road does not work with a Ferrari
