HELLO EVERYBODY,, I'M WORRIED ABOUT MY SONS VISA,, BEFORE WE USE TO GO OUT FOR A VISA RUN TO ARANYAPRATHET,, BUT SINCE I GOT MY WORK PERMIT AND VISA FOR MY WIFE AND DID NOT APPLY FOR VISA FOR MY SON :o:D (how stupid) WHICH THEY SAID IT WAS OKAY BECAUSE HE WAS UNDER 12 SO THERE WOULD BE NO PROBLEM, AND SOME OF MY FRIEND HAD DONE THE SAME TOO, WE WILL BE GOING HOME FOR A VACATION IN DECEMBER; CAN SOMEONE CONFIRM THIS FOR ME THROUGH THEIR PAST EXPERIENCES WITH SIMILAR CASE.... ANY ADVISE OR SUGGESTION WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED :D:D

Should not be any problem. Believe overstay is noted but there is no fine and he will not have any problem coming back with you. Just remember to get re-entry permits for yourself and wife before you travel.

I'm not sure if the nationality of the parent influence the attitude of the officer ... but here is what happen at the immigration at Don Muang, with a kid below 10:

1: You give the passport

2: Officer looks at it

3: Red Light flash at the booth

4: Senior Officer comes, looks at the passport and smile at the kid

5: Senior Officer writes something on the passport and let you go ... with your kid.

In theory, the same would happen for kids under 14 years old.

I was told 2 years ago that the law had changed and now the age was 7 and under for a child to be able to travel with parents without a visa of their own. Prior to that we had not gotten visas for our youngest who was 5 at the time. She was 2 years over stayed. I was planning a trip home so we decided to do a border crossing first to clear her overstay. I am very glad we did. The delay it would have caused at the airport may have made us miss our flight. I was sent to copy several pages of her passport and mine. Supervisers were called in and scrutinized her passport and mine. Lots of stamps and notes. No money or fines but a lot of time spent. I would definately take a trip across the border before you go home and save yourself any problems that may make you miss flights. Now we have education visas for both of our children.
