Suvarnabhumi Airport Beefs Up Security for Songkran

Suvarnabhumi International Airport has beefed its security for the Songkran holiday as a large number of tourists are visiting and passing through the country.

Suvarnabhumi International Airport Spokesperson Wilaiwan Natwilai disclosed that security measures have been beefed up to monitor tourist activities during the bustling Songkran festival.

She said Suvarnabhumi Airport has been very active with arriving and departing tourists.

Each security unit has been instructed to tighten measures, such as inspection, and tourist police from the Provincial Police Bureau 1 have been dispatched to assist with security measures.

Locals and tourists have left the airport since April 9 and are expected to make their return trips from April 16 to 18.

Airport officials disclosed that almost every flight during the Songkran festival is fully booked and certain airlines may increase its flights to meet the public's air travel needs.

Nonetheless, airport officials have asked passengers to carefully plan their travel routes to the airport as heavy traffic congestion is expected.

They suggested passengers use the Airport Link train service for their convenience.
