I need to go to Munich in May. I would like my Thai lady to follow in June (Visa no problem, it's a repeat visit)

Would like to show her a bit more of the Alps, perhaps Italy, or.....

Too many choices. Perhaps someone has done it and wants to give some tips.

Last minute booking after arrival? Moderate price class,Time 2 weeks.

Train or flights ?

Whatever your experience has been would be helpful to get me started somewhere.

Lucky girl. There is sooooooo much to do and see. Trying to narrow it down will be tough! I'm no expert here, so just wanted to chime in and say to have a great trip.

I do know I enjoyed the "romantic road" there in Germany. You are only a short train ride away from some the most fantastic places on the earth....

Take her to Paris and include a day in Disneyland. Preferably not in the weekend.

I don't know about Munich, but I live in Antwerp (Belgium) and Paris is easily reachable by high speed train.

Don't stay in the Disney hotels; they are completely overpriced.

Good choice of hotels close to Disney with shuttle service to Disney and the train station, so you can reach Paris as well.

take the train from Munich through to Zurich, or travel down on the train further to Milan.

Why not just stay in Munich, such a beautiful city.

You have wonderful choices , but I would suggest to go down to Italy across the Transval route, its breathtaking,

from Munich to Italy, follow the scenic route through the Alps to Innsbruck in Austria and via the Brenner Pass into Italy. Munich's proximity to Italy through a narrow stretch of the Alps has made it the most Italian of German cities... Head for Milan it has a wonderful backdrop of the Alps.. and is Fashion City so girls love the shops... Not far away are Tuscany and Venice... and if you have time left, Rome is something else... You and your friend are going to have a terrific holiday and see one of the most beautiful parts of the world.. I hope she likes Red Wine... And I am Scottish...

Crossing the Alps is very appealing. Do you know of any scenic train rides, slow is fine in other words not going throught the Brenner tunnel?

Hello,

You can check for example this train : http://www.glacierexpress.ch/en/Pages/default.aspx

It's a panoramic train in Switzerland, going from Zermatt to St-Moritz. If you don't find many pictures on their web site, just google Glacier Express and you'll find more info.

It would be for sure a great experience for a Thai national.

Hope it helped, cheers jap.gif
