Applying For A Thai Drivers, Anywhere In Los ?

Featured Replies

If I have a certificate of residence, lets say for Rayong or Khorat, can I apply for the Drivers licence anywhere in Thailand f.e. Bangkok, Chiang Mai..... or only at the location of my registered residence ? Cause some rude i.d.i.o.t at such an office told my I could go anywhere and apply for it, but I rather think he wanted to get rid of me, because it was short before closing hours, and I had to go there twice and get another paper verified by immigration (after the drivers-licence-people gave me a wrong information when I was there in the morning hours). Cause the problem is, I am far away from that place now where my residence is registered. So, if I could that anywhere in LOS, esp. Bangkok, that would be great, so I dont have to ride another 300 KM again to get the licence....

I went to the head office at Chatuchak despite my Amphur belonging to other office. I had a Thai friend call them who was told the same as you were. Any office will now (after computerized I presume) accept the application they said. I had no problems. Cheers!

but I dont think this will work for me because I got a residence certificate for BangLamung-Pattaya (even I dont live there, but I just needed any residence certificate and we could manage to get one legally for BangLamung district from Pattaya immigration), and now I am back to Bangkok.... I dont think I can go to any of those listed places with my Banglamung-Pattaya residence certificate then.... as what I read from there, they only accept Bangkokians....

Probably best to get a Thai friend to give them a call. Cheers!
