Shocking murder of a Japanese Man in South Pattaya Hotel.

A shocking case of murder now, from the Day Night 2 Hotel :o just off the South Pattaya Road. Due to the severity of the case, Police Lieutenant General Jongkran, the Regional Commander of Police was called in to oversee the case. A security guard at the hotel was making a routine inspection of 11th floor when he noticed water coming from room number 1117. He eventually gained access to the room and discovered the body of Mr. Hiroyuki Takei aged 70 from Japan inside the bath.

The Police were called and immediately cordoned off the area and begun their investigation. Beginning with the body, the man’s legs and arms were bound together using plastic bags and around his neck was an item of clothing which appeared to have been used to strangle the man. The man had also sustained a number of severe head wounds. Moving to the room itself, blood stains and broken beer bottles were found in the living area suggesting the man came to a violent end. Continuing their investigation Police ascertained that the man was a practicing homosexual and would often taken young men back to his room.

The night before the attack, he was seen escorting two young men up to his room by the night security guard. Police theorize that the attack was not pre-planned but was a possible robbery which went further than the assailants wanted. Conflicting stories about his last hours suggest he may have been seen in the nearby Lek Boy Bar on the side of the Day Night Hotel or in Soi Sunee Plaza which is an area of gay bars in South Pattaya. No further details are available as yet as the investigation continues. We expect updates on this story in the next few days. We will of course bring them to you when we receive them.

I don't have any after dark pics because it's not a good area for a heterosexual white guy to be hanging around in the evening IMO.

gay man and 2 gay boys....there must be a lesson to be learnt here

A simple orifice count would suggest that you are correct.

I don't see how all this pans out. What does he need two for?

<<Addendum: I've just worked it out. It is possible. However it requires one of the Thai boys to be able to contort himself into a 'U' shape.>>

The lesson is, whether it's in business or for pleasure, rodgering someone can put them in a bad mood. You may end up strangled.

Quite possible he specified this hotel. Do you know for certain he

did not ?, because you imply that he did not. :o

Travel agent who booked him there needs their license taken away. The dregs of society occupy that hotel - the suspect list will be most of the building.  :D

Sounds like a classic Pattaya suicide to me :o

It looks this way to me to, briefly caught the news clip on PCN this afternoon. The Jap guy had a bag over his head. Whether it was put there by the cops after the fact i'm not sure. But its definately familiar.

Say what ?!?!?! I live about 30 feet to the right of the DayNight 2 hotel, and I'm a (very) heterosexual male (my landlady jokes that I'm worse than a butterfly, I'm an airport with non-stop in and outs everyday !).

I walk down that soi everyday (towards TukCom and Sai Song), never get hassled, even when staggering home at weird hours of the morning.

Now that they have the new "Gossip Cafe" in the lobby of the hotel, I often go there for breakfast and to check my email.

I first stayed at the DayNight 2 back in '93, when it was still fairly new. When I went back in '98 and '00, it was looking pretty run-down. Still cheap, and a lot quieter than some other hotels.

In '04 I started renting an aparment next to the hotel. I noticed last November they started doing some major renovations, replacing just about everything (tiling, carpets, mattresses, fridges and TV's). They were expecting a lot more business as a result of TukCom opening.

Soi DayNight 2 (or "Soi GayNight" as some call it) does have a bit of a reputation. There have been a couple of shootings (by the gay Romeo Karoake, the fitness gym and even a guy who opened a tattoo studio in my buidling, and that's just in the last year). I think some other tourist was murdered in the DayNight 2 back in late '99 or early 2000 as well. Supposedly they clued in that something was wrong when they found a head in the elevator.

It appears that the Waterfall Restaurant, which just opened last fall, is now history. They too thought they would get a lot of business with TukCom being across the street. Unfortunately, most people in that neighbourhood eat from street vendors.

Youth from gay bar murders Japanese man in hotel room

A Japanese man murdered in a hotel room was probably killed by an employee of a gay bar invited back to the room by the victim, police believe.

Responding to a call, officers on October 7 went to the Day-Night Hotel in Nongprue district where they discovered diluted blood seeping under the door of room 1117. Inside, blood and water covered the floor. In the bathroom the tap was still on, and face down in the bathtub was the body of Takei Hiroyuki, a 70-year-old Japanese national.

The dead man was totally immersed in the water. He was wearing blue shorts and a gray t-shirt. Both hands were bound with a vest and both feet were bound with a t-shirt, as was his throat. His skull showed a three-inch open wound as if he had been hit with a heavy object and his arms, eyes and mouth were bruised. Police estimated he had been dead for about eight hours.

There was evidence of a fight in the room, which had been ransacked. Two large beer bottles lay broken on the floor and there was a broken soda bottle covered with blood splattering.

From the state of the room the killer probably used the three bottles on the victim’s head, knocking him unconscious before tying him up and drowning him in the bathtub. He then ransacked the room and took the valuables before disappearing. A cleaner had discovered the blood seeping under the door.

On questioning witnesses, police found that the victim had taken a young man to his room from the gay bar next to the hotel. Both the victim and the young man were not seen again. Police have surmised that the visitor murdered Hiroyuki, and are now searching for him.
