Tywais Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 The one on the left looks a lot like a lithograph from the Mexican artist "Leonardo Nierman" of whom I have three of his pieces. Volcanic Fury (acrylic) However Renoir and Monet are my favorites but can't afford them.
cdnvic Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 I can't pin down any as my favourites. I love Dali as much as Monet, and then there's Robert Bateman, Ansel Adams, Emily Carr.... there's just too much talent out there to narrow it down to a single one. Lately I've been getting more inventive with photography. cv Giant Buddha at Doi Saket (Enhanced Photo)
sadman Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 Seurat - I know very little about art but I love pointillism.
bino Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 I am a big fan of realism- paintings that look like a photograph from a distance, and beg for you to walk up close to inspect the detail. These paintings are done by Jim McKenzie, an artist who lives and works near my home on the west coast of Canada. The small digital photos don't really do the paintings justice, as the originals of most of these paintings are huge- 40 by 60 inches. They take him anywhere from 3 to 6 months to complete.
