Like everyone I get appointment reminders from the doctor, garage, whatever that use abbreviations for the days of the week and the months of the year. I've worked out the months of the year but I've drawn a blank on the days of the week.

Can someone please help me out on this?

This link should be of help:

As far as I know, there aren't any abbreviations for days except that they may omit the word วัน (wan) which means day.

So for example Tuesday, วันอังคาร (wan angkaan) is written only as อังคาร (angkaan)

Only Thursday is often shortened from วันพฤหัสบดี (paruhat sabadee) to just วันพฤหัส or พฤหัส (paruhat)

Monday - Wan Jan วันจันทร์ abbr: จ.

Tuesday - Wan Ang-kaan วันอังคาร abbr: อ.

Wednesday - Wan Pút วันพุธ abbr: พ.

Thursday - Wan Pá-réu-hàt วันพฤหัส abbr: พฤ.

Friday - Wan Sùk วันศุกร์ abbr: ศ.

Saturday - Wan Săo วันเสาร์ abbr: ส.

Sunday - Wan Aa-tít วันอาทิตย์ abbr: อา.
