Crime Family Feud Turns Violent: Gunfire Erupts in Samut Prakan Leaving Four Injured

A long-standing family dispute erupted into a violent confrontation in Samut Prakan’s Phra Pradaeng District on the night of 10 July, leaving four men injured, one by gunshot and three others with various wounds from a brutal assault. Police from Samrong Tai Station were alerted at around 21:00 to a violent altercation involving firearms in Soi Wat Bang Ya Phraek, Khlong Bon Community, Pu Chao Saming Phrai Road. Officers, accompanied by emergency responders from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, responded to the scene. At the location, officers found a blood-stained alley and large pools of blood near a small wooden house. However, the injured had already been taken to local hospitals. The victims were identified as: • Mr. Watchara (alias Daeng), 46, the younger cousin, who suffered a gunshot wound to the left thigh. • Mr. Parin (alias Phet), 28, the older cousin, who sustained facial and bodily injuries from a group assault. • Mr. Natdanai (alias Pai), 27, a friend of Phet, who was struck with a blunt object, causing a head injury and severe bruising. • Mr. Anusorn (alias Nu), 27, another friend of Phet and the alleged shooter, who was injured with a torn eyelid after being attacked by Daeng’s group. Police quickly launched an investigation and arrested Mr. Anusorn, who was found in possession of a 9mm pistol with 13 bullets, two of which had been fired. The weapon was legally registered in his name. He has been charged with three offences: 1. Causing grievous bodily harm. 2. Carrying a firearm in a public place without a valid reason. 3. Discharging a firearm in a public area without justification. According to police, the violence stemmed from a month-long domestic conflict. Mr. Parin (Phet) and his girlfriend, Ms. Jiraporn (alias Boom), had been living in the home where the incident occurred. Roughly a month prior, Mr. Watchara (Daeng), the younger cousin, moved into the same house, leading to frequent verbal disputes. On the evening, Mr. Phet and his girlfriend attempted to move out. Upon learning this, Mr. Daeng allegedly assembled a group of 6–7 men and waited in ambush. As Phet, Boom and their friend Pai were loading their belongings, the group attacked them. Fleeing the assault, Mr. Phet called his friend Mr. Anusorn (Nu) for help. Nu arrived on a motorcycle and entered the alley on foot but was confronted by Daeng’s group, prompting him to fire two shots as he fled the scene. He then returned home to hide the weapon. However, the attackers pursued him to his residence and beat him before fleeing. Shortly thereafter, police arrived and took Mr. Anusorn into custody. Picture courtesy of Naewna. Police in Pakham district, Buriram province, have arrested a 59-year-old Thai man following a robbery and assault on a Cambodian migrant worker. The suspect reportedly stole 4,000 baht in cash, claiming financial hardship as his motive. At approximately 09:30 on the 11 July, Police Lieutenant Krisada Katiyachan of Pakham Police Station received a report from Ms. Sareab Chuan, a 47-year-old Cambodian national, stating she had been assaulted and robbed by a man who had offered her a ride to the Thai-Cambodian border. Instead of delivering her to the border as promised, the man stopped the vehicle, attacked her, and stole her bag containing cash. Following the report, Police Colonel Anan Thongbanthoeng, Superintendent of Pakham Police Station, ordered an immediate investigation. Police used CCTV footage to identify the suspect as Mr. Daeng, a 59-year-old resident of Village 3, Sompoi Subdistrict, Non Din Daeng District, Buriram. A search team swiftly located and apprehended Mr. Daeng at his residence. Officers recovered Cambodian riel banknotes and other belongings worth over 20,000 riel, though the 4,000 baht in Thai currency had already been spent. The suspect admitted to using the stolen money to pay off two months of motorcycle instalments, get a haircut and go out drinking. According to Mr. Daeng’s confession, he met the victim at the Nang Rong bus terminal, where she was seeking transportation to the Rong Kluea border market in Sa Kaeo province. He volunteered to drive her, asking only for petrol money. After she gave him 80 baht for fuel, he drove towards a remote area, physically assaulted her twice and snatched her bag before fleeing. Ms. Sareab explained that she works in Ratchaburi province and was travelling back to Cambodia to visit her ill child. After the assault, she managed to seek help from nearby residents and report the incident to police. She expressed gratitude for the swift response and professionalism of the police, stating her intention to return to work in Thailand, where she has many friends and feels welcome. Police Colonel Anan reiterated the policy of Provincial Police Commander Major General Narongsak Prommata, stressing that law enforcement officers are committed to protecting everyone within the Kingdom, regardless of nationality. “Whether Thai or foreign, anyone suffering harm on Thai soil will receive equal protection and justice,” he said. Unpaid Motorcycle Tax
When buying a used vehicle, exchange should be completed at the DLT or very least authorised inspection station. This issue would have been highlighted. Take the green book and bike to the DLT, it's got to be re registered.
