Sockabrock Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 OK - Maybe I'm a big dummy. I've searched and read and searched some more but the whole non-Imm B process is still confusing to me. Please tell me if I got this right.... *Gather the paperwork from my prospective employer. (Letter of intent to hire - business ID papers - business tax ID papers and WP3 forms from Dept. of Labour for the sticklers in Penang) *Fill out the application for a non-imm B. *Head down to Penang, plan to stay for 2 - 3 days. *Contact one of the "visa assistance agents" in Penang recommended elsewhere in this forum. *Hand over my paperwork, photo, passport and $___? (How much should I expect to pay, including consular fees? Should I pay it in Baht? Ringgit?) * Sit on my hands in Penang for 24 to 48 hours. * Retrieve my passport with non-imm b visa (90 day? Or could I possibly get a 1yr multiple entry right off the bat?) * Return to Thailand * In the case of a 90 day non-imm b, do I plan on returning to Penang with work permit in hand to apply for 1 yr multiple entry? Or can I do that at immigration on Suan Phlu? * If I get a 90 day non-imm b and DO NOT go on to get a work permit do I have to start the whole process over again or can I just pay another fee in Penang to get it extended? Additional question - I'm American, I've heard rumors that my minimum monthly salary must be 60,000 baht to qualify for a non-imm b and or a work permit, is this true? Thanks for your pointers - I know steps of the process have been covered before, many many times, maybe that's what's got me so confused! As I said I am American...
lopburi3 Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 1. Your only hope is a single entry without a work permit. 2. Multi entry visa can only be obtained from a Consulate. 3. 60k income is required for an extension of stay (one year) from immigration - not for a work permit or visa. 4. You get 90 days entry - you have until that expires to get a work permit at any job. If not you get a new job offer and make a new application for visa. This may require a tourist visa or even 30 day border stamps.
