4 Month Trip

Featured Replies

Hi everyone.. Just a quick question, I am comming out on the 20th of November, and I have a return date on the 21st of March 2006. Its my first time to Thailand, so I´de like to know, what I have to do about a visa, I am English, and 22 years old, I am hopefully going to find work, in a Diving center. Can anyone advise me, on what I have to do.

Thanks xx

You need to obtain a visa before you travel and a non immigrant O would be the best. These are usually only available from a smaller Consulate and often require someone to sign for your repatration in the event you run out of money.

Hi Natztar. lop is, as always 100% correct, to clarify a little:-

If you are in the UK apply to the Hull consulate for a multi-entry non-o based on visiting friends / family.

You will need a guarantee letter from someone (not necessarily Thai) stating that they will fund your return trip should you run out of cash.

The Hull consulate is most helpful, I think the forms are available online, PM me if you cant find the form, I've got a pdf

You can get a work permit on the back of your non-o (unlike a tourist visa) so you can even be legal :o

Enjoy yourself :D

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Either tourist or non-o may require a visa run once during your stay.

If this is your first time over here you should go see Angkor Wat in Cambodia at the mid-point of your stay. Two birds with one stone , you start your time over for your Thai visastay and see at one the best sites in the area.
