Hi all,

Yesterday my MacBook Pro went completely dead. I checked everything I could, battery indicator (fully-charged), tried resetting the SMC, etc...It's gone.

I bought the MBP 4 months ago in the US and enrolled in the AppleCare support program so under that any repairs should be completely covered.

Does anyone know of a place in Chiang Mai where I can take by MBP in for servicing? I'm curious to know if the will support the AppleCare support plan purchased in the US. Does anyone know?

Thanks!

I bought a Macbook in North America and had some problems with it and took it to the Apple Reseller on Sirimajalikan (spelling) just off of Huay Kaew Road. They couldn't service it at the shop and had to send it to Singapore. It took a total of four days, and they were very efficient on calling me as soon as it arrived back. I was very pleased with the service.

^^ Like shepsei said, you have international warranty. You can drop it off at Sirimankalajarn road although it might take a few days. AppleCare is world-wide and any Apple Authorized dealer will service your machine under warranty. Benefits of the fairer platform ;)

Follow Huay Khao road towards the super highway, take a left turn at the first light past Central Khad Sun Khao, it's in the first block on the right hand side.

There's also an iStudio in Central KSK and one in Central Airport - they belong to the same company as the Sirimankalajarn branch but I am not sure they accept warranty return at those locations - never tried. Sirimangkalajarn road is the HQ and also the service center.

I had apple care and got problem with my MBP , i called up the care hotline a filipino man attend to me. i told him about the battery problem as im new to mac he said , He dont know and cant help me and ask me to send it back to the shop i bought. i kindly ask to whom i am speaking he told me his name and he cut off the phone.

i called back apple care and a lady answer me it seems the care hotline is from singapore, the nice singaporean lady thought me step by step and what to do with my mac. i told her the problem with the filipino service guy and she said by right he needs to ask my name and my macbook serial before he tell me he can help or not.

So the lady took a report of my complaint and submit it to apple her supervisor. the next thing i receive an email giving me a voucher and apology as they said the guy have been dealt with because they heard they heard everything from a recorded conversation

Went to the Apple store on Sirimankalajarn two days ago. It turns out their support department just moved to the second floor Kad Suan Kaew. The new store is called Mac Care and it's the place to go for all your servicing needs.

So far so good for me. I took it in 2 days ago. Got a call the next day from someone in fluent and clear English explaining a logic board was broken and that they had ordered parts from Singapore. They told me it would take another 4 days to complete the repairs. I'm assuming it should be smooth sailing from here and am pleased with the service. Will update if something goes awry. :-)

Good to know - I saw the Mac Care center there...

I am waiting for Central KSK to collapse but the building is stronger than it looks...

Good to know. Interesting they moved to the dying KSG.... is Sri'jarn just a shop now?

I'm not sure what their plan is, but yes I believe the location on Sri'jarn is just a shop.

No.

Kad Suan Keaw branch is just a shop just like the one at Airport Plaza. The Sirimangkalajarn one is the service center and its office. All the Mac shops in Chiang Mai are owned by this same company anyway. It's called MacZone.

That's incorrect. The location at Kad Suan Kaew is the service center. I was just there.

To clear up some confusion: KSK has two shops: One is downstairs near the entrance, that's a retail shop. The other is on the 2nd floor near the rear exit to the parking lot, that's the service center.
