Anyone have any experience of selling used CDs or DVDs to CD Warehouse in Bangkok? I'm wondering what kind of prices they pay and whether you have to haggle with them.

If you have any classic old movies, I would be interested for sure. Anything like the Road to movies with Bing Crosby and Bob Hope would be fantastic.

I'm dead certain you'll get better offers from us than from them.

I doubt whether CD Warehouse would appreciate my mixed bag of mostly older non-action movies. Anyway, here is a list of what I'll probably want to get rid of. Most are R1 or R2 from Amazon US/UK.

Crimes of Passion

Kagemusha (Kurosawa)

The English Patient

The Pillow Book

Blow

The Killer/Hard Boiled (John Woo boxed set)

Spirited Away (Miyazawa anime)

Kiki's Delivery Service (Miyazawa anime)

Ghost in the Shell (anime)

Zatoichi

Heavenly Creatures (Peter Jackson, Uncut Version)

Y Tu Mama Tambien

The Killer Elite

Casanova (80s BBS TV series)

Beautiful Mind (Thai R3 version)

Rififi (Criterion Collection)

In The Mood For Love (Wong Kar Wai)

In The Mood For Love (Wong Kar Wai)

Are there any extras on this?

Nothing at all. It's the Hong Kong R3 "DTS Version," not a special edition.

I went in to CD Warehouse today and they gave me 150 baht for the one classical CD I brought. They were selling used classical CDs for 250 baht, pop CDs for between 80 and 250 baht.

For DVDs they couldn't give me a rough estimate, but looking at their used DVDs it seems to depend on the original cost. Thai-manufactured VCDs and DVDs were on sale for 60-100 baht. R1 titles for 500 baht or more. I figure you might get 300-400 baht for a good R1 DVD.

They insist on seeing some ID with a photo and you have to sign a copy. Apparently, some stuff people try to sell them is stolen.
