I don't think there is currently a free-to-air version of Eurosport available in NE Thailand. It might not be a substitute, but if you have a high definition receiver (such as Openbox), you can get Setanta Sports FTA at the moment.

Measat 91E

Setanta MPEG4

Also on this satellite:

History Channel SD

Yes, UBC/True carries Eurosport.

I contacted True Visions and they are unaware of this. If you can let us know what channel it is on, I will pass the news on to them.

I get True TV via the telephone at 300 Baht per month. Eurosport is shown, along with all the True sports channels. I live in Buriram Province.

Thank you for your replies. Sinbin, interesting, how did you get that? And do you know how fast connection I need?

Sorry for not getting back any sooner. The apartment building I live in has a very basic UBC package that carries a few English language movie channels, True Sport 1, Nat'l Geographic, local Thai channels, The South African sports channel (the name escapes me right now) and Eurosport. But I cannot tell you on what channel Eurosport is shown, because the channels just pop up randomly on my TV, anywhere between #1-#34. If this is a life or death situation, I can talk to the building manager to get more information about Eurosport. Maybe I am getting a cable package that just happens to carry a few UBC channels and Eurosport?

These seem to be the options for Asian viewers but I wouldn’t be able to open any of them. It is possible that some cable operators may be able to tap into one of these. Look at Lyngsat if you want to know the details of frequencies, packages and encryptions. I understand that some naughty people in the NE do receive K+.

I know that you can receive ASTRO in parts of Isaan and that carries Eurosport.

Suggest having a word with a knowledgeable local installer as it will require a slightly larger than normal dish.
