Hi

Been searching everywhere online to find out where I can get a rear pickup bed cover in Bangkok. The type that is a manual hard cover. I heard they might be called Top Up.

Anyone know where I can get one? Tried the Toyota Dealer but they say they dont have them.

Cheers

Surprised that bloke at Toyota Phaholyotin told me they don't do them, probably just didn't know, sigh.

Cheers for the part number, did you get yours done at Toyota? Not really after a soft one as it's the security we are after i.e. locking shopping in.

Yes done at the dealer as we have just traded in trucks, I took a printed copy from the carryboy website to show the salesman what I wanted and a team of blokes turned up (few days later) and fitted it.

Took about 4 hours to do.

Pleased with the work too, a good job done.

I went with Carry boy too, they put it on before I picked up the truck from the showroom. Did a great job.

We had one of those installed by the Toyota dealer when we bought our Vigo. They are built by Aeroklass, and they are the same as the Aeroklass model, with just a few red Toyota labels.

It has been great value for money, iirc the carryboy ones are closer to 30k? It is raw black-plastic in colour, not colour-matched and painted to the car colour as some I have seen. Our truck is black so it matches anyway, and looks pretty cool.

It is very heavy duty and the Toyota guys had a bit of trouble get it aligned properly so it closed evenly around the back deck. It's not the sort of thing you just take on and take off. The motors are locked down on the attatchments in the back bed and so you need tools and probably some help to lift if off if you wanted to remove it, and also you will have to disconnect the cables for the motors from the car electrics.

The motors are powerful enough and lift the cover quickly. The mechanism to lift the cover is very effective and the supports lock into place.

So it's been pretty good in all. One thing that another poster here once noted: if it is very wet when you lift it, it dumps the water into the bed of the truck if you don't take it a bit slowly.

The Carry Boy one does not leak or spray water into the rear and it just take's the undoing of four nut's unclip the electric plug and bingo, other than 3/4 peeps to lift it, as it's heavy, it's off. Did it on my one several time's. The price does include the painting/spraying to match your car. Had mine fitted on a Vigo 4 door fantastic.

I don't think the Carryboy and the Aeroklass ones are the same, definitely no red Toyota labels on the one we have fitted.

My mate has the Aeroklass one on his Hi Lander and water can get in at the rear when you raise the lid from the tailgate end of the truck. He has modded his with some rubber strip to prevent water getting in.

I checked mine and it has a rubber seal fitted. I will check once out and about when it rains.

Our lid is colour matched to the truck, white. Looks cool and pleased with it - price 25K Baht

The carry boy is designed to let the water out of the back the only time you will find water in the boot is if you park it in a nose down attitude. But it will have to have the front wheel's at least 10" lower than the back. Other than that it'll never leak.
