I am posting here again , as i want to find out about how long my g/f has to wait to apply for a second tourist visa to Australia ?? She phoned me today after speaking with the visa centre and whoever she spoke to told her that she can apply again now? She had only gone back to Thailand 5 weeks ago and to me it sounds like she was misinformed,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, The lady she spoke to said as she had a single entry to Australia on her visa that she can put in the application forms , Does anyone know if that is true and how long would be a suitable time frame before applying again? I am thinking of bringing her back in January after she graduates,,, We were having a baby but she lost the baby friday so that was a bit of a downer after hearing that news also,, ,,,,,,,,,, I was thinking of marriage but i have decided to bring my Tilac for another stay in Australia then plan a bit more before mariage.....

Do we just fill out the 48r form and summons the same documents plus more for another visa application or is there other things we should know?? Hope somebody has taking their Tilac for a second visit to Australia with them......

Kind Regards......Tinytot

You can apply as many times in one year as you want. The Embassy staff will always tell you that. BUT, that doesn't necessarily mean that they will approve your application.

I tried to get my g/f out to Australia on a tourist visa twice within a twelve month time period. Her first visa was for only three months. Our second application was refused.

I asked for only another three months for the second time, but they told us that they wouldn't issue two visas in any twelve month period.

I regarded that statement as the unwritten policy.

I do have a friend in Australia who has successfully brought out his g/f twice in the same year, but he had written support from his local member of parliament.

As the application fee is non-refundable should the application be rejected, you will need to put in a strong submission.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

My GF got a 3 month and a 6 month within 12 months but the 3rd one in 18 months was refused

Verably suggested from the staff that she should apply for a prospective Marrige visa

Also told, you can apply as many times as you want for a tourist visa

Word from Aust Immigration was as long as you abide by the conditions of the visa (not working or overstaying) you can apply as many times as you want and the officer in Immigration thought it was a little strange about the too many times in 12 months rule and had never heard of such a rule

Must be a rule made up in Bangkok
