October 16, 201114 yr All Blacks are taking it to the Wallabies. Looks like it's going to be New Zealand against France in the finals. Not much chance for France the way they've been playing. The REAL finals is the game going on right now... 17 to 6 for the Kiwis and only 14 minutes to go.

I could not convince them that their team needn't bother to show next week. But yes, this should have been the final.

There were some funny results and I really did hope the Welsh would beat France. The Welsh were a man down for almost the whole match and yet only lost by a point. Had they been able to convert the only try in the game they would have won.

Probably all scared that the ABs would choke again. But for crowd passion (I won't call it unsportsmanlike) you should have watched the Liverpool / Man Utd soccer match a couple of hours later. And the accusations of racism made after the match. In the rugby, the ref had a good game - positive, clear in his explanations.

Get real, O.C. when I lived in Melbs, my Ockor workmates always rubbed in that they only barracked for 2 teams......... Australia and whoever was playing New Zealand....... so I joined them, ,,,, vice versa, like.. That was in 1955, and it hasn't changed in over 50 years. NOT bad sportsmanship, trans Tasman rivalry on both sides, good fun for all. Ya shoulda bin in my house last week, we were all rooting for Wabbabees against Springbacks.....

If Australia wins a game it is only because they have a NZ coach. If they lose, it's the Australian players fault? Still not a great fan of rugby union, because it must be the only sport where the result is decided by penalties awarded by the ref. Few tries are scored when the teams are evenly matched. Evidence is provided by the immense interest in, and great knowledge of, the referees involved. It seems the ref selection gains much more coverage in this thread than player selection!

Yups, the Welsh kicking was a big let down, they may have won. Better luck with a better kicker next time. The Dragons were pretty fired up, but the Wallabys skipped faster.
October 22, 201114 yr Unusual for Australia to win a consolation game. Whatever the sport, hockey, cricket, rugby, etc, Oz invariably have a huge letdown from missing out on the final and play like crap. Is there another game to be played or is the World Cup all over? Media has gone very quiet.

October 22, 201114 yr big final tomorrow, everyone thinks it will be a cake walk, but dont write the french off if they manage to play half decent in the first 20 mins or more....or smell an upset if they score and get some confidence into their game in the second half, thats what happened in 2007 when we lost the game in a bizzaire turn of events when the ABs were up after half time 13-3 personally, I cant see that happening again, ABs wont let up the pressure till the final whistle imo, with massive hits, and played at pace, we have the boys to do it. keep them pinned in their territory like when we played the wobblies last week, lets see what french team turns up,when the big hits go in........
