I know back in US if a car gets flooded it often is called a "total" because of damage and smell, what happens here?

I was going to say it sounds like an act of God, but I am wondering if he has any official jurisdiction here (insurance wise of course).....

If your car was "parked" and it was flooded, your covered. If you drove somewhere that got flooded "It's your fault" and not covered. typical insurance companies that <deleted> you every chance they get.
