Which Visa

HI GUYS,I WAS WONDERING IF THERE WAS MORE DIFFICULTY APPLYING FOR A 6 MONTH VISA OVER A 3 MONTH...IS THE 6 MONTH HARDER TO GET AND DOES IT TAKE LONGER??THE VISA IS FOR MY THAI GIRLFIEND TO COME TO AUSTRALIA..

CHEERS..

My experience with the Bangkok Australian Embassy visa section and reading all posts on the issue in TV leads me to the assertion that your visa application must make sense to the reviewing visa officer to be granted.

Six month visa application is a strong as a 3 month application if the reason and documentation your provide supports the need for a six month stay.

If this is your G/fs first trip to Australia and it is for simple tourist purposes, three months seems sufficient on first impression.

Certainly a complete itinerary documenting a need for six months for her to tour all the sites she will be seeing should well do the trick.

You might check the other current thread on 2nd visa applications for information regarding the permanent visa application expected to be made eventually. A six month may well be justified if prolonged exposure to your family is necessary in preparation for an eventual permanent visa application and should be so stated in support for a six month visa application.

YES HER FIRST TRIP TO AUSTRALIA.

I WILL BE SUPORTING HER WITH THE VIEW FOR MARRIGE IN THE FURURE SO I THOUGHT THAT 6 MONTHS WOULD BE GOOD TO SEE HOW SHE ADAPTS TO AUSTRALIAN CULTURE BUT IF IM GOING TO HAVE ANY TROUBLE WITH THAT MAYBE I SHOULD GO WITH THE 3 MONTH VISA FIRST .ONCE A SUCCESFUL APPLICATION OCCURS HOW SOON AFTER MUST SHE TRAVEL TO AUSTRALIA.IM HEADING BACK OVER IN JANUARY SO WHEN SHOULD I APPLY.IF IT IS REFUSED HOW LONG AFTER UNTILL YOU CAN RE APPLY..
