Rock Bars

Country Road on soi 19,the late band is good.

The band in 5 star on cowboy, really good band tight sound.

For some more bluesy rock,go to tokyo joes,on soi 24.

I can vouch for all 3 places, and jam there regularly.

And have yet to hear eminem in either place.

Country Roads in Soi 19 is definately good - as far as the late band with Puk goes.

Try also Soi Lang Suan, AdMakers, and just for a laugh Metal Zone. Then around the corner in Soi Zarazin (spelling?) the Brown Sugar. More jazzy, but a great venue.

At the Victory Monument you find the Saxophone. Rather funky, but also a great live music venue. Larry's Dive in Soi 22 plays a wide selction of all kinds of rock music from tape (i.e. MP3...) Nice venue for hanging out as the volume is not at ear-splitting level.

The world greatest progressive rock band, Dream Theater, is comming to the Impact Arena Exhibition and Convention in BKK on Jan 25th. I doubt most of you have heard of Dream Theater. They sound a lot like Yes/Genesis/Rush/Pink Floyd.

I HIGHLY recommend you get their latest CD, Octavarium. Listen to it a thousand times then go the the show on Jan 25th. see http://dreamtheater.net/tourdates.php

This will likely be your only chance to see one of the worlds greatest bands in LOS.

Hey guys!

I passed today corner Sukhumvit and Ekkamai!

There's a coffee shop(Ban Rai Cafe) on the corner and behind that, look like a pub!

Is there somebody who knows about this place?

Look quit big and nice!

Hi there Froggie dude, it sounds like you have very good taste in music. The Dude would like to go on record recommending Country Loads on Soi 19. Sounds like the nightly band plays diggable tunes and is decent. I'm not ready to break out the shovel and start digging but it's a decent start and alternative to today's mainsteam garbage

I've always had a good time at the Saxaphone Club at Victory (BTS). The bands are either blues or jazz (ish) but the ones I've seen have all had really good muso's playing. Good mixture of thais and farang customers.

Try it....I hope its still there, I've lived outside of BKK for the last 8 months.
