My husband age 57, myself age 52, and daughter age 15, all with USA passports are set to fly to Thailand this Thurs. We just read something that says the passports must be valid for 6 months after visit.

We are only staying 1 week. My husband and mine passports are valid for that long or longer. However my daughters passport expires on Jan 16, 2006. Is this going to be an issue. She is a minor child travelling with both parents whose passports meet that qualification.

Do they ever make exceptions?? Or is that 6th month rule not true? we've found it listed some places but not others.?

Help?

It is recommended that the passports be valid 6 months after

period of stay. However, Thai immigration will accept passports

which are only valid for period of intended stay.

Until not so long ago, it was a strict 6 months' rule, more recently 3 months,

the newest I cxame accross is above.

Should be no problem, but double check with your airline and you may refer to

below links by NWA, and Delta-Air:

As Axel said above it is not a problem for a US passport (as long as the passport covers the period of stay). It is required of many others however so anyone in doubt should check the links he provided.
