What If There Were No Entertainment Districts?

Hi All:

I just wanted to pose a question to see what your answers would be if the Thai government were to strictly ban all of the goings on in the redlight districts? This means no more girlie bars, massage parlours and the sort.

Would alot of the expats & tourists stay away or is there more to Thailand than that? I know there is more but since they keep on making the closing times earlier, and I read that midnight closures are a possibility...hmmm

I've already started going to the Phillipines anyway, no problem drinking until the early hours, if Toxic wants to turn Thailand into some kind of fun free zone there's plenty of other places on the up.

only time will tell what effect it will have on this once easy going country

so he bans all bars and dives and then they go on the streets like you see in Suk road now at 2-3am.

you never used to see quite so many prostitutes walking the streets when dives were open all night.they were all tucked away out of sight.

maybe he will close bars at midnight . its no bigdeal .all the patrons will be on the streets doing business !

The authorities can shut down all of the red light venues but they can never shut down desire.

As long as Thai hookers desire money, and as long as tourists desire sex, the two will always find a suitable location to satisfy those desires.

Yeah, in any place where there has not been/is no outright prostitution or shows, there are always underground venues, or more discreet prostitution (Freelance user girls for example.. (and guys too), ... anyone?)

My price is two hundred baht per night. Cheeeeeeap! Only Pretty females need apply.
