Visa Extension Bangkok

Featured Replies

Hiya All

I would get a extension in Bangkok. I have 30 days on arrival and wish to extend this later for another 30 days. Whats the address in Bangkok for extensions?

Also I will be married and will have my marriage documents etc, how will this change my situation?

Thanks for all replies :o Lop

Visitors who enter the Kingdom with Visa on Arrival generally cannot file an application for extension of stay except in special cases such as illness which prevents them from travelling, etc. They can submit an application at the Office of Immigration Bureau , Immigration Division 1, Soi Suan Plu, South Sathorn Road, Bangkok 10120. Tel. (662) 287-3127 or 287-3101-10 ext. 2264-5

I have extended my visa before in a hospital up north. I think I already had a visa from the UK and they added 30 days. I think that is the entitlement if you already have a 2 month visa from your home country you can extend it at certain places.

Thanks for reply :o

I was just wondering if you can do it on a 30 day entry visa?

You might persuade 'em to grant you a 10 day extension. That 30 day permit is not a proper visa. Once you are married you'll need to apply for the appropriate visa at a Thai Embassy or Consulate outside Thailand.

Just a quick note considoring that your from the UK. I am applying for my tourist visa soon for 60days, but however it states on this website:

That I have to have air ticket paid in full. I think this is stupid if I got turned down for tourist visa and would of bought ticket. I dont quite understand.

You can go to the Royal Thai Embassy in England, theres a couple I think, I went to the one in Liverpool, and get a 90 day non immagrant visa. Thats if your on the UK of course :o

Hiya Dr.

The 30 Day extension is still classed as a visa or else you could not stay 30 more days without being charged 200thb per day?

So which will be the appropriate visa for marriage? Just for future reference.

Thanks again for replying. :o

That is a good site for UK visa applications. The government sites in the UK make it impossible to get application forms!

At the bottom of the visa pages on the site below you can download the Visa forms which may be addresssed with Birmingham consulate, but any will accept.

why not apply for a 60 day visa in your home country? then there is no need to trouble yourself with extending and paying the 1,900 baht fee. i have never heard of anyone getting a 30 day extension on a arrival visa unless you are in hospital.

i just got a double entry tourist visa from liverpool which will give me 180 days (2 extensions included) not bad eh? thank christ i only have to go on one of those mad runs to the border this time round.

It is too risky to just overstay. Jail and deportation are the outcomes. You won't get a 30 day extension of that permit. When you are married the appropriate visa is a Non-Immigrant O class visa based on support of a Thai national.

If you had a hospital stay that required an extension you would receive it but you can not normally extend your stay for more than a week or two on a 30 day entry without visa stamp.

You should, after marriage, obtain a non immigrant O visa from a Consulate outside of Thailand and return using that for a 90 day stay. If you plan on having qualifying employment (income of 40k per month) or 400k from overseas in a Thai bank account within that 90 days you can use a single entry visa and then, with wife, extend your stay one year at a time at an immigration. If you can not meet requirements you should try for a multi entry type so that you can come and go for 90 days each time.
