Pheu Thai MP Natthawut Denies Allegations Over Red-Shirt Flood Relief Control

Maybe the way the politicians look at it is that they are bound by duty to get the best for their consituants after all ,it is they voted them in and so if they can't get more emergency supplies for them than a another province who perhaps needs the supplies more, wouldn't they be seen as failing in their responsibilities as their elected represenative.

Just ask Nuttawatt , or any politician for that matter, if this is some of the theory behind it all.

Picture of truck at Don Meuang. The sign reads: help to the flood victims with love from Thaksin Shinawatra.

A you tube video showing the same truck being loaded by volunteers at Don Meuang.

And Khun Chalerm is...................?

Shuffling the Police leadership apparently.

It's quite amazing that the 3rd PM hasn't been front line (or even side lines) for the past 2-4 weeks. You couldn't shut him up for the previous 3 months.

He must have been told to shut up.

You couldn't shut up Chalerm if you pushed his head under water and filled his mouth with gravel. worth a try though.

I suspect that the floods will bring about another world-wide request for aid, just like after the tsunami in 2004. I wonder how much of the actual funds donated will get to relief-areas?

I do believe that the only credible avenue to get flood-aid to victims is to have the HRH's daughter run the relief-effort herself. It was she that investigated the diversion of funds from the tsunami. I certainly hope she steps-up before international aid comes pouring in and the various political factions get their hands on it. How much is still missing from the 2004 tsunami that never got to its intended purpose?

Sad when politics plays such a role in the distribution of funds for relief and aid products themselves get side-tracked for delivery to specific areas where political support came from. TIT.

Dear xen,

There has to be some broad truth in what you say, however when a person has no red identification and there are left without food and water then perhaps one would expect to see an attitude which is more humanitarian.

There's also the possibility that by refusing to give handouts / food / water etc., to those without proof of full red allegiance (and there have been several reports along these lines) just alienates these people more against the red cause.

You couldn't shut up Chalerm if you pushed his head under water and filled his mouth with gravel. worth a try though.

I believe you will get around 10 months of silence if you can get someone to generously provoke his son into NOT shooting him in the head NOT in a nightclub of dubious repute and then NOT allow him to escape as a fugitive.

In this circumstance, I believe the usual Chalerm response is NOT to assist his son via mobile phone and NOT boast about it afterwards/during, and for all the witnesses there to, over around 10 months NOT recant their testimony allowing Chalerm's son to return to Thailand.

I believe that during this 10 month period, you might see Chalerm more quiet if you do / do NOT (sorry I cannot keep track of my negatives) allow his son to NOT shoot a policeman in the head.

however, after 10 months are up, you then may have to putup with Chalerm talking more than ever and launching his own newspaper.

Also, another option to shut him up is to get him to run in the Bangkok Governorship race, and he certainly shuts up when he doesn't even come close to winning.

A friend can alledgedly personally attest that if you DO NOT provoke him at close quarters by honking your car horn at him when he drives like a bell end, he will definitely NOT hit you in the face with the butt of a gun - now this is interesting, because when he DIDN'T do this, he actually wasn't saying anything.

So....NOT getting hit in the face with the butt of a gun = NOT saying anything.

So there you have it. 3 good ways to get Chalerm to keep quiet.

- NOT allowing his son to NOT shoot someone in the face

- NOT winning BKK Governorship

- NOT letting him hit you in the face with the butt of a gun

Thanks for posting this amazingly brazen stuff.

The "boats for red shirts only" one is particularly disturbing.

Why do MPs have a say in distribution of relief supply at all?Is that not a matter of local governor and officials one side and FROC on the other side? What monkey circus this has become...Truly distasteful.

Why don't they get an International aid organisation to deal with this. They have the expertise to handle this and won't have connections to rival factions.

The Red Cross is the obvious choice ..................oh hang on I haven't thought this through have I.
