One Way To Go

Featured Replies

After being on here loads of times asking for help I have one more thing to clarify...

If I get Non-Immigrant "O" Class Visa Multiple Entry (12months) to stay with my girlfiend in Thailand and also to seek employment, do I have to purchase a return ticket from the airline. I have contacted the airline, EvaAir and Thai Airways and both mention contacting the Embassy in London for clarification. I've tried calling the Embassy but nobody is available today. I am running out of time to find this answer as I will be leaving the UK on the 25th November. Please can someone tell me if I can buy a one way ticket or do I have to get a return to show immigration I will be leaving in 12months time????

Help!

Andy

If you have a proper visa your airline should carry you without an outbound airticket. You'd best start doing something about the visa. Time is getting short.

Andy76............just to add to Dr.P.P's post.............i/m in exactly the same boat as you, i came here on a one way ticket many moons ago with Eva and have done so every year since (i.e i stay here 11 months and go back to the UK 1 month a year on a return ticket bought in Thailand).

I come through Schipol and every time at check-in they ask "wheres your return ticket?" simply point out you have a multi O and you/ll have no problems.

If you apply to Hull Thai Consulate you/ll have the visa back 3 days from posting it (4 max)............go to there website and download all the forms from there.............there are 3 from what i remember,

1. The application form

2. The guarantors letter

3. A form that simply states how you are paying.

Dont forget to use "special delivery" labels (they are blue/silver colour) available from the GPO.

As said you only should need to have a visa in your passport to be ok.

One sentence in your post was "stay 12 months". Believe you understand you can not stay 12 months with that type of visa - your stay 90 days at a time and if you enter just before the 12 month expiration date you can stay almost 15 months (less the time you have used for the border crossings to obtain new 90 day stay stamps).
