Guest Froggy
Hi Thailand Lovers! I'm trying to find some informations to know if we need a Medical Certificate to apply for a Non-Immigrant Visa OA with Multiple Entries. I know that for the Visa type O they require for, but for OA with Multiple Entries, is it the same thing? Is there somebody who knows if we can get a valid Medical Certificate in Thailand and if they have to contact with the country of the foreigner? Also. can we change a Tourist Visa with Double Entries for a Non-Immigrant Visa OA with Multiple Entries directly in Bangkok after we get Married? Thanks for All the Informations Members! singa-traz
For the Visa, requirements here: - http://www.thaivisa.com/304.0.html No medical certificate .. but you might need one to get married. For the Tourist to Non-immigrant OA visa in Bangkok ... I will let it to the specialist. lopburi3
Am not sure what you want but a class O visa (single or multi entry) based on marriage does not require a medical certificate that I am aware of. The medical certificate is often required for long stay (retirement visas). After you marry you need to obtain a non immigrant class O visa. The normal procedure is a quick trip to Penang or other consulate. But you can ask to change your tourist visa in Bangkok and might be able to do so; especially if you are planning on extending your visa on a yearly basis with money in the bank. A non immigrant multi entry class O visa is one thing. No proof of income or money in bank required. But you need to exit/enter every 90 days or less during the year it is valid. The visa extension is obtained with proof of income/bank funds and requires you also obtain a re-entry permit for any travel. The re-entry permit may be single or multi entry so perhaps that is what you are thinking about? You should not need a medical certificate for what you are planning AFAIK but they are available from hospitals and clinics here if needed. Guest ka1234
1 from tourist visa to O type visa you need medical certificate I have a (marriage based) type O visa and I never had to produce a medical certificate to get it. Does it depend on what grounds you get it on...?

dr_Pat_Pong
Froggy...an O/A does require a medical and a police clearance. It is much easier to get a plain O and extend it in Thailand

lopburi3
Is there somebody who can tell me if I seriously need a medical certificate to get married in Thailand with a Thai citizen? What you need is a paper from your Embassy and your Embassy can require whatever they feel like so you must check what they require as not all countries require the same information/proof. Ned
On the subject of medical certificates for visas just remember that certificates from doctors working at CLINICS are NOT accepted anymore. You have to get one from a hospital. I found this out the hard way in Chiang Mai two days ago.
dr_Pat_Pong
Was the med certificate for an application for residency? I'd appreciate your advice.
djinn
Ned,I made my medical certificete in a clinic in Pattaya and received my O visa at immigration in soi Suanplu in BKK.They accepted it without any problem. Ka1234,I needed a medical certificate to receive O visa because it was the first step to transform a tourist visa in OA visa without leaving the kingdom (I think??? ). Ned
Doc Patpong, The medical certificate was required for a Retirement Visa. I turned up at Immigration in Chiang Mai with one from a doctor at a clinic but was sent away to the nearest hospital to get one from them instead. There they took my blood pressure and a doctor listened to my heart before handing over the certificate. I was told that hospital certificates have been required since August. Ned
djinn, Just shows you that it depends on the immigration office and/or the officer. Perhaps another officer might have been content with the medical certificate from the clinic and not sent me a few kilometres and a couple of songthaew rides down the road. An O/A has much more rigid rules, as does someone changing from TR visa's NED CM always makes it harder
djinn
Agree with you Ned;in Pattaya they refused to change my tourist visa to O visa. They said I had to leave the kingdom and no hassle in BKK .TIT
