Lexus V8 is popular hence tough to find in Thailand. Where are you going to order it from? What kind of $ for it?

Would there not be a problem with changing the engine # in the blue book?

Not too hard to find the 1uz in Los, but difficult to find one with good compression. the rods are thinner on the 2uz and other varients like the vvti one so be sure which one you are buying first.

I have a lexus 1uz v8 i could sell in my room downstairs with all the parts in excellent condition and great compression, was going to supercharge it too, its a great alloy engine. ended up strapping a garrett t28 to a sr20det instead because the 1uz be too much power for the car i was dropping it into.

1uz, is that the 4700 cc engine?

where in BKK (or close to BKK) should I look for one of those?

what rough price range would they be? (complete engine, no gearbox)

I would check Ban phli eastern side of bkk towards chonburi, best place to go for foraging for donor wrecks and missing parts.

as for enigines

1uz = 4.0L, they have one with variable valve timing denoted vvt, this is a better buy if kept stock, but if supercharging the 1uz pre-vvt is the one to get as the rods are significantly thicker

2uz = 4.7L you mentioned, sourced from Landcruiser and Tundra i think

3uz = 4.3L (i think), either way id go with the 1uz as the rods are thickest and parts are more plentiful with them, they return best fuel economy too which is important these days.

well ive located a 1uz lexus v8, it was through a private sale. i go monday to view it and if all good ill buy it.. super charger,gearbox not inc

SORRY but price and location im keeping quite for now ( not sure if the seller wants pricing details public SORRY)

im going the hole hog and doing full mech,brakes and suspension upgrade.. im wanting 400hp....... for now

blue book issues have been on my mind, but i have a number of contacts that are confident that its no issue + as im keeping all parts that are to be taken out, the wife wants me to build her a custom lowrider style pickup so original engine + trans not far.

worse comes to worse ill convert it back and source a cheap shell to transplant the v8 in.

the wheels are in motion as of monday so let the fun begin...

Must admit l am jealous, but good luck with the project.

My dream would be a Chevy small block ZZ383 crate motor for my Vigo, small package with 425hp out of the box with a carb .
