I went to Makro today to buy some safes for guestrooms and they had three left, all in open boxes and the one I tried was broken so I figured they were probably all returned stock as they didn't look completely new.

I know the old Carrefour sold them (their own brand) but I am not sure if they stock them in what is now Big C. Anyone know if they still have them? If not anywhere else anyone recommends?

I only want to spend about 1,000 baht each.

Noticed a selection of safes in Chalong Home Pro today. Can't say if any in the 1,000 baht range.

Try furniture shops, e.g. the one next to Super Cheap, if SC itself does not sell them.

I know exactly what I get for $30. Maybe not Fort Knox but better than leaving the passport under the pillow. And guests seem perfectly happy with those we have already.

Carrefour/Big C in jungceylon did have then and they were not expensive

As you leave Phuket town on the road to Supercheap, there is a 'safe' shop on the left hand side, just 10 meters before the Rajabat traffic lights. They sell the typical hotel room safes.
