A telephone survey of 1000 people does not represent a broad cross section of the US population of some 300 million.

Acctually, if you had read statistics in the university, you might have heard of the fact that if the sample-selection is properly done, only 1040 participants are needed, to give an accepted marginal of error. No matter how big the acctual group of 'voters' are.

Operative phrase here "if the sample-selection is properly done" :o

Polling is rather biased - you can get results rather easily depending on how you ask a particular question.

A sample is assuming all things are even, and well thats not exactly how the world works.

Yes, but discarding any polls not in ones favour (and holding on to others) purely based on the (standard) number of people questioned isn't enlightened.

Have a closer look at the lower one where he is holding the book. Compare the colours and shapes on the right hand side of Bush's book, with the colours and the shapes on the book the girl is holding, then try to turn Bush's book over in your mind so the front is held like the girl's book - what happens to the position of the picture on the back?

Hmmm, good spot Meadish- appears the flag on the cover touches the binding on both books, whereas the back cover is opposite. Must be more liberal smear propaganda??? Karl Rove should dust off Ken Starr immediately and get him on this! :D:D

Interesting. Even though the one book is upside down the splotch of red is to the right side on both and the spot of white next to the person in a yellow top is to the left. The back covers mirror each other. Good eye.

This pic has been photoshoped. It's no secret. It's still funny

Feeling Lonely, Mr. President?

11-25-5

Don't anybody tell George W. Bush or Dick Cheney, but Iraqi leaders called today for a timetable for getting U.S. troops out of their country -- and said that insurgents in Iraq have a "legitimate right" of resistance.

As the Associated Press reports, a communiqué finalized by Shiite, Kurdish and Sunni leaders Monday "condemned terrorism but was a clear acknowledgment of the Sunni position that insurgents should not be labeled as terrorists if their operations do not target innocent civilians or institutions designed to provide for the welfare of Iraqi citizens." Although the leaders did not set a specific timetable for the withdrawal of U.S. troops, Iraq's interior minister said Monday that U.S. troops should be able to leave by the end of 2006.

We haven't heard the GOP response yet, so we'll have to tell you later if the Iraqis are "cowards" or just members of the "extreme liberal wing of the Democratic Party."
