New Truevisions Hd Satellite Box (Samsung)

Featured Replies

After using the new remote for about a month, I absolutely hate it. Takes about 3-4 times the steps to get to the same information I accessed with the previous remote/system. The placement of the keys and the steps to access information are about 50% less user-friendly than the old system. I wonder if any kind of study was done by TrueVisions concerning user-friendliness before buying Samsung's system whole-hog. This is rather a peculiar complaint because I have a number of other Samsung components (printer, monitors, tablet) and I give them high marks for user-friendliness. Perhaps TrueVisions gave them the parameters to develop the remote, which explains its awkwardness.

The receiver itself:

In addition, I find the white-letters-on-light-pink-background menus extremely difficult to read. Whoever designed these graphics didn't pass Graphics 101 in college. Lastly, I still can't figure out how to assign favorite channels to specific genres (sports, music, etc.). I've struggled for a month, put the question on TV, and have come to a dead-end. The only things positive I can say about the "box," is the the soon-to-come PVR features, and the better picture quality. However, the day-to-day operation is a real time-consuming headache.

Just curious, anyone else out there hate these new user-unfriendly features? If so, maybe someone at TrueVisions reads these posts (hope springs eternal). rolleyes.gif

Have visited the website three times to find what you refer to. No luck. If you have the time, would mind offering a link? Thanks in advance! jap.gif

I to think that the setup on the remote is rubbish ,tried programing it as instructed ,but found that the volume control then refused to work ,so just put it back the way it was ,how is it true can always manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory ( the new channels).
