Ssangyong Rx 270 Xdi

Featured Replies

Over the next few months the wife and I will be buying an SUV. We are not offroaders, just need more space than our "fleet" currently gives us. While we are currently looking at the Escape/Tribute, Fortuner, Freelander and CRV, my wife and I saw a promo for SSangyong's SUV. Other than it being Korean and having some sort of affiliation with Benz, we know little about it.

Has anyone had any experience with Ssangyong's Rexton (RX) 270 Xdi?

Thanks,

These things are all imported so pricy. Merc engines and gearboxes, however the car will fall to peices around the engine, or the old Musso did anyway. They look nice, but no where near as good value as the Fortuner, also there the Kia Sorento, nice looking motor but all Korean cars suffer huge depreciation in Thailand.

> Escape/Tribute, Fortuner, Freelander and CRV,

Don;t think these are bigger (inside) then the respective 'compact' car offering from those brands.. Like a CRV is seriously cramped, think 'Civic'. It's just taller, but no added interior room to speak of.

Fortuner though is actually bigger. Nice car, that. Get one.

Had a lift in the back of a mates Fortuner a couple of weeks ago - found it to be very cramped, with little legroom. For such a large vehicle I wasn't impressed with the interior space. Much less than the 97 Pajero I used to have a couple of years ago.

Thanks for the responses. SSangyong is out and we will head to the Auto Show and see what we (i.e. the wife) likes. We are looking for something that can help us carry bicycles, dogs etc.

Thanks again
