Why was the function that showed if we had a new message been discontinued? Now I have to waste time to see if I have a new message, and usually don't even think to check.

Can this be rectified please?

Click here then go to Private Messages and make sure it is enabled. At the top right there will be a number in the Mail icon that informs you of how many unread PMs you have.
