Good Idea To Take The Car To Koh Chang?

Featured Replies

In a couple of weeks I will be driving my own car from Isaan to Trat and then go to Koh Chang. Is it a good idea to bring the car to Koh Chang? I would have to leave it there when go to Koh Kood of course. Will we have time to go from Koh Kood in the morning, then via Koh Chang to get the car and back to Trat and be there at the airport in the afternoon at about 4 pm?

Thanks in advance,

Ben

We did this in 2009. It is no problem really. Just make sure that you are a confident driver and that it is not pissing down with rain. Koh Chang flooded when we there.

What kind of car is it? If it is a small underpowered affair, you might have trouble getting up the hills.

Just come back from week in Koh Chang - car was a great way to get around. Helps if u have a low gear too !!

Take the car over by ferry no problem. Roads are simple as you would expect, there are a couple of steep climbs/descents and a few hair pins. So engage brain before driving.

Fill up with fuel before crossing over.

And make sure your clutch is in good condition...LOL
