It be nice if Huahin develops into a smaller, Asia version of Cannes, but highly unlikely since Thai powers that be will probably exploit it as usual, forcing it to be moved to a more civilized (in governance) country

Sorry if I'm beeing off-topic but...why Ryan Gosling's name is followed by a "copyright" sign and the other dude wife's by a "registered" one ?

First-ever Hua Hin Film Festival Ends with Success

HUA HIN: -- The Hua Hin International Film Festival wrapped up yesterday after giving film fans four wonderful days of screenings.

The inaugural Hua Hin International Film Festival which was held between January 26 to 29 in Prachuap Khiri Khan's Hua Hin District was a great success and garnered a great deal of interest from both Thais and foreigners.

The festival was a collaboration between the Federation of National Film Association of Thailand, the Hua Hin Municipality, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand with the aim of boosting the Thai film industry's reputation.

Over 50 of the best films from Southeast Asia were screened at the Major Cineplex in Hua Hin.

The highlights included Moon Lotus, from Myanmar, At the Horizon from Laos, Kiles from Cambodia, The Border (ฺBatas) from Indonesia and the fourth sequel of the movie series “The Legend of King Naresuan" from Thailand.

A variety of great activities such as the showing of classic Thai movies, demonstrations of live film voice dubbing, and bands playing classic music from the 60s and 70s were held at an open-air theater at the Centennial Park.

Last night, many Thai, Asian and Hollywood film stars walked down the red carpet for the closing ceremony of the festival.

The closing film was a Korean film, Always, staring superstars Han Hyo Joo and So Ji Sub.

It would probably end up like the Bangkok International Film Festival with someone from the government getting charged for corruption.

I guess Ryan Gosling is in Bangkok now, training Muay Thai for the filimng of a new movie, reunited with the director of "Drive", Nicolas Winding Refn, "Only God Forgives". Kirsten Scott Thomas is in it too. Looks interesting.

"A Bangkok police lieutenant and a gangster settle their differences in a Thai-boxing match."

For those who've seen "Drive" I am shocked Albert Brooks was not nominated for a best supporting nod. Jonah Hill was pretty good in Moneyball, but not even close to Brooks' role.

Believe those are C for Center and R for right, as in the position of the named people in the photograph.
