Does Anybody Have Photo'S Of Thai Police Rank Badges?

Featured Replies

I've looked everywhere for descriptions for Police rank badges, to no avail! any info or web site would be greatly appreciated.

I need the information in order to avoid the embarrassing situation of calling a Captain a Major and vis -a versa! wai.gif

Just address them as you should: Pee, or Nong. They don't care how a farang addresses them.

As a farang, I would not address any policeman as Nong!

Khun tamruad is my standard choice.

great link, Farma, I have again learned something new today after so many years in Thailand. already printed it out and saved to favorites

Neither Pee...

Unless he is the one who settled all the drinks'bill after an "informal conversation"... cool.png

This is good information; saying so,

does the thai Military (army) in particular have the same rank badges as the police. I always read the news online and

the ranks in both police & army appears to be similar?

I didn't see any (1) one star general (Brig.Gen) rank in the police and rarely or perhaps never hear of any 1-star general in Thailand?

can anyone advise? Thanks.

As I said, I use "Khun tamruad".

Seeing all the ranks, I would use "tan" before any rank!

I once called a major - sergeant. He didn't seem to get angry but corrected me. wai.gif
