Want To Ship Belongings To The U.S. And Need Some Advise

I am moving back to California after living in Bangkok for 4 years.

I am not looking to ship anything large like furniture, but just random "stuff" around the house like, books, clothes, electronics ect.

I have no idea if it would even be worth it to ship stuff back because of the cost?

Does anybody have any experience or advise they would mind sharing with me in this area?

Any kind of info would greatly help me,

Thanks much

It really depends on how much stuff you have. If you have a few boxes I would go with the post office. Check how much they charge by the weight. Sometimes paying the extra weight to take with you on the plane is the cheapest way.

Well I shipped my stuff here and I think it was worth it but in the end it was necessary cost wise to ship by boat but I shipped from the east coast. We are also planning to return later in the year and the cost is about $2500 to Florida we've been told for half a 20 foot container but given the amount which is really between the max to fill a container and what is required to ship by plane it comes out considerably less for more room to just ship by boat. In that case I took as much as I could to fill the container and wish I had taken some more as it wasn't completely full and there were items left I could have used..

I'll bring back a few more items then I brought to fill it up this time, what I can't fit may stay on the dock..

I forgot to add that I have some quite heavy stuff like tools so that's what made it worthwhile to boat ship.

A number of years ago I shipped a cubic meter wooden crate to Los Angeles. When all was said and done the total cost was $1,500 USD. After I had unpacked the crate, I decided that the contents were NOT worth that amount of money.
