Water Pump - Inventer

planning to replace the main water pump of the house. spot on a Hitachi INVERTER 400W model, and it is significant more expenmsive than others !

questions :

1) how inverter on water pump actually function ? ( I only know how it works with AC )

2) installation in Bangkok / Thailand, do we get tangible benefits ?
