Tonic

Featured Replies

Max Value Supermarket in the Hyatt Erawan Hotel basement and on Chidlom down from Central about 100 meters towards Petchaburi have Schwepps Tonic in the ten baht bottles.

Cans do seem a lot more abundant than those small bottles. Why would bottles be preferable to cans though anyway?

No tonic has been available in Thailand for a couple of months in cans or bottles.

That's simply not true,it's been available in cans in the Big C here in Lom Sak.

I bought 4 cans on Saturday from a local 888 Shop (or whatever they're called) in Bangkok, and there were plenty more in the shelves. Can't say I've ever noticed it not being available to be honest.

Well never mind then! Forget I said anything.....

Well I'm grateful thanks ricklev! Managed to pick up the last remaining bottle from Max Value supermarket in the basement of the United Centre on Silom today. There's been none around the Langsuan/Ploenchit area for weeks. Every little helps!

Woohoo!

Well, it gets even better. The very tasty Erdinger beers are "only" 119 baht at said Supermarket, where Villa charge 149 baht for the same beer. Good little place if you are in the area.

I'd argue with the "simply." It's pretty true that most places there isn't any tonic, and hasn't been for quite a few months now. I'm glad there have been sightings, but the Big C at On Nut certainly doesn't have it. I'm glad we're getting sightings at Foodland, etc., will have to check that out. Perhaps it's available again, but the big outlets have gone on memory warp, just don't realize there's a demand out here? In my area, and everywhere I've looked, which is quite a few places, including Phuket and Krabi, Lotus - no. Big C - no. Tops - no. Max Value - no. I did pick up 4 cans at Tops a couple of months ago, when about 10 cans suddenly appeared on the shelf, but since then, no more. One of those 4 languishes in my fridge--I'm reluctant to make a gin and tonic until I know I can fix another one!
