February 15, 201214 yr It would seem the search for gluten free bread continues by the OP. I guess the next question would be if someplace in Bangkok sells bread making machines and rice bread mix, which I know can get in the states. Bob's Red Mill is one brand. That's what I used. But as they told Dorothy, we're not in Kansas anymore. Hopefully will get some nibbles on your request.
February 15, 201214 yr Author thanks guys...I will, one day find gluten-free bread out here and when I do, I will have toast parties in the streets! Till then the quest continues.....
February 15, 201214 yr There's a Japanese bakery in Sukhumvit Soi 23 if you walk down the Soi from Sukhumvit a couple of hundred feet past the post office it's on the right side of the road. It's a separate building on the side of the street outside some Japanese restaurant.
February 20, 201214 yr The Japanese bakery down Soi 23 is a bakery in name only. I checked it out today, 20 Feb, and no rice bread. They have some bread but they don't make it. Do make some sandwiches though. Next stop will be to try and find the bakery in Thong Lo.
February 20, 201214 yr Hyatt Erawan bakery used to bake gluten free bread on request. They probably still do but I don't know for sure.
February 21, 201214 yr What is Japanese rice bread? looks like potatoes to me! Anyway i guess you can find it in Japanese neighbourhood like Thaniya Plaza which is opposite Silom Complex. I saw a lot of Japanese restaurants and baker's shops around that neighbourhood.
