What documents are needed for a 1 year work permit renewal? My WP expires in a couple of days and the next renewal will take it over the 1 year boundary. My accountant is on a holiday so I need to prepare the necessary docs for her, and the MOL website (www.mol.go.th) is a mess full of blinking icons so I can't find the information I am looking for there...

You will need to renew your stay in thailand before your extension of stay expires and then you can renew your work permit at the Labour Department and extend the work permit to be stamped up to the same day as your visa extension,your work permit book have the same expiry date as your visa.

This is a documents required for work permit renewal [Annually]

1.Copy of company certificate

2.Income year end report [Por Ngor Dor.1,50,51 and 90,91]

3.Letter of employment

4.Audited accounts

5.Letter of power of attorney

6.Work permit book

7.**Work permit renewal form [W.P.5]

Government fees for A renewal of a permit or extension there of

-REnewal of a permit or extension there of for not exceeding 3 months 750 baht/time

-Renewal of a permit or extension there of for 3-6 months 1,500 baht/time

-Renewal of a permit or extension there of for 6 months - 1 year 3,000 baht/time

I have extended my non-o to the end of 2006. The yearly audit hasn't been done yet (co. was registered early 2005) so I don't have the end of year filings. Will the monthly withholding tax receipts do? Or will they give me a shorter WP extension than my "extension of stay" stamp? (Until whatever the deadline is for the yearly audit?)

To answer my own question (for anyone else that needs this info), here's the final list of docs that was needed. (My accountant cut her holiday short and came back to renew my w/p )

1) copies of the year's p.ng.d 1's and the receipts that go along with them

2) copy of passport & extension stamp

3) copy of work permit with all relevant pages (ie all pages with anything printed, written or stamped on them)

4) extension application form and power of attorney

5) employment letter with salary etc

6) copy of company registration certificate

7) copy of list of shareholders (less than 6 months old, apparently have to be updated every 6 months somewhere)

8) copy of company objectives etc

9) copy of the tax registration (PP09) with current address etc

10) copy of marriage cert. and birth cert.. Not sure if needed but included it anyway.

11) three 1000 baht notes and one 50 baht note in renewal fees

11b) 1500 baht to the accountant

12) original work permit (returned same day with 1 year extension)

13) original passport (returned same day)
