Smiler33 Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 I am a 29-year old UK born man for various reasons have decided to live in Chiang Mai if I can. I have lived there on and off for 2 years on 30-day Mai Sai runs but over the last six months I have set up a company to export goods to the UK. We have recently sent a 40cbm container back and are in talks with suppliers in the Uk and things are going well. My girlfriend and I have our first child on the way at the end of Jan but I am in the UK for a new passport and to sort out visa issues (I hope). I am also in the process of a short term let on a 6million condo with an option to buy which I am looking to buy in February outright. I heard about a respresentative visa which allow a person working for a company without employing aload of staff and having a permanent office in Thailand. I will need to travel home every six months but the business is controlled by me in Thailand and I have parties acting on my behalf in the UK. Sorry to blabber on but I am not sure of the best course of action. Please help!
astral Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 I am not sure about the representative visa, have not heard of that one, but there was mention of a new option for Consultants in the last few days that does not need lots of employees. If you are prepared to marry your girl-friend that will entitle you to a one year visa, especially as you have a child. I trust you are on the birth-certificate as the father?
