I have non o multiple entry issued at Penang on 7 Apr 2005, Enter before 6 Jul 2006, whats the last day I can leave and re-enter on same visa?

Also current stamp is valid till 31 Dec 2005, can I get extension on this at Samui immigration so as not to be doing visa run during the festive holidays, and if so what is the cost?

Are you sure? If your visa indeed was issued on 7 Apr 2005 it should be valid until 6 Apr 2006 and is not likely to be honored later than that by an alert immigration officer. Have you looked closely? A one year visa is exactly that - valid for one year from date of issue.

The cost for an extension is 1,900 baht, photos and copies of PP/card.

Would of thought the enter by date would of been 6th April 2006 if issued on 7th April 2005.

Seems to be some debate on whether the visa can be used on the very last day i.e the 6th.......see this thread,

Dont believe you/ll be able to extend beyond the 31st Dec without a good reason (hospitalisation etc), best to have a word with Immigration beforehand..........presumably its a 90 day stay stamp you have.

If granted fee would be 1900 baht.

Yes its definately July 2006, this is why i ask.

Yes its a 90 day stamp.

They have entered the wrong date when issuing the visa the longest period a Non Imm O can be valid for is 1 year.

Your going to have to go down to Immigration and explain whats happened..............as Lopburi says the last thing you want is to have someone spot the mistake when you are re-entering after April 06.

While your there ask them about extending 31st Dec................dont think they will, but you can but ask.

If I were to pay the 1,900B extention fee, how long is the extension good for?

I imagine it does not extend the year given by the visa, only extra time (how much?) to make a border run if the date pending is inconvienent, such as the holidays.

How long is the extension good for? After the extension expires how long until the next border visit is required?

I will still need to exit Thailand every 90 days until the year has expired, at which time I must renew my non-imm "O" again and then continue to make visa runs every 90 days to keep this type visa current...

Is that right???

Might be little confused here, anyone know how it actually works so I don't screw this up?

Thanks

1. You are unlikely to obtain extensions for inconvenient holidays but any that you did receive would be counted in days.

2. You have to leave before any extension expires.

3. No that "continue to make 90 day visa runs is not correct. You must make 90 day (or before) runs on a multi entry O visa until it expires. Once expired your ability to return is over. You would have to obtain a new visa from an overseas Consulate to start that process again.

One further point although it may be obvious............

If the date of your "admitted to stay" stamp is inconvienient and you choose to do your "border run" say 10 days before then when you re-enter the new set of 90 days run from when you re-enter and are not added to your previous admitted to stay stamp............i.e

Admitted to stay stamp shows 31st Dec...........but date is inconvienient you choose to go on the 20th Dec and return the same day the new stamp is 90 days added to 20/12 and not 90 days added to 31/12.
