PM CONFIRMS THAT ALLOWING FOREIGN COUNTRIES TO INVEST IN THAILAND WILL NOT CAUSE CORRUPTION PROBLEMS

Prime Minister THAKSIN SHINAWATRA insisted that the opportunities for foreign public and private sectors to invest in Thailand will not involve corruption definitely. He said the discussion on the agency selections will be broadcasted live to the public.

The Prime Minister spoke about the invitation of foreign ambassadors based in Thailand to listen to the vision of Thailand’s development today. He said the country needs the private and public sectors from abroad to suggest ideas on various areas.

Therefore, Thailand will have a choice to select proper agencies to construct the public utilities whilst using the least amount of budget and the latest technologies. In regards to the financial conditions, the implementation must not cause public debt nor use the national budget. Thus, Thailand can exchange certain goods with the partnering countries to deal with this financial issue.

The premier indicated that this is a new investment scheme under capitalism, and Thailand is the first country to carry out such method. He said Thailand will be able to accumulate knowledge and expertise on various fields from different countries throughout the world. He said problems should not arise if everyone would like to see advancement in the society.

Same old same old one way street. Thailand (more likely Taksin) gets the benefit, foreigners take all the risks.

Right, but this time it won't work.

The whole story about the 10 lines BTS is flawed.

No one wants the "exchange goods" system.

If thailand wants to make a deal with foreign companies, like Siemens, they will have to pay CASH. And a lot of cash. But of course we can doubt it : the gvt has no money.

Who will pay ?

It would put a huge stress on the public finances, and the trade deficit, and finally on the THB.
