Pizza And Pasta In Ubon Ratchathani

I found a very good Italian restaurant in Ubon Ratchthani yesterday with excellent food like Pasta % Pizza. The place's fantastic and I haven't been at such a place for years when back in Europe.

Had a lasagna classic for 220 baht. Pizzas made in a real Pizza oven were around 350 baht. Just a nice p-lace to have some good Italian food, haven't received free food to make an advertisement, was just thinking it's maybe good to know when living/ driving to Ubon .

Place is called: "Spago", somewhere after the mental hospital coming from the big clock near Rajabhat uni. Arroi Dee......jap.gif

Saw some good reviews for this place when I was looking for somewhere to get a roast Sunday lunch last weekend (still none the wiser on that so any suggestions welcomed until we are setup to make our own).

Will definitely give Spagos a look next time we are up the city - gotta be better than Pizza Company. Is it open during the day?

Yes - they are very good pizzas.

Kantharalak in southern SiSaket province has a hidden gem for pizzas also - Pizza4U. It's in the seemingly half-abandoned market opposite the bus station. The outlook and ambience is not great, but this cafe bar (more in the style of Wrong Way) gets as many falang (except post 9pm) as Wrong Way and NJoy combined. Small pizzas (almost too much for one person) are 160 to 240 ish. Well worth checking out if you are down that way. The German bread for sale there is yummy too.

That’s almost like comparing a hot dog with a filet steak. Pizzas in Kantharalak aren’t that great, I had tried it before, not good for my taste.

But well, roughly said. my dog likes bones, I don't.

The German who’s running the place is charging more than the Italian guy, because of the fact that he’s pretty much alone there. The smell of cash must have changed his mind.

And you won’t sit in an air-conditioned room in Kantharalak...................jap.gif

At SPAGOS not just the Pizzas and Pastas, but the entrees and deserts are superb aswell. Franco also has a good selection of wines. Pricewise, his pizzas are less than The Pizza Company and infinitely more delicious.
