Government Blocked Websites

Featured Replies

hi folks,

i am having a 20 mbit true internet cable line here and quite a lot sites i get redirected to

http://58.97.5.29/annouce/court.html

which assumes the thai government blocks them, and those are really normal websites nothing weired

i still have a 10 mbit TOT dsl line in the house as well, and they block different things and redirect to a different

goverment site

but the fun thing for me to see was that i recently stayed in a hotel which is using 3BB and i was amazed to see, there was literally nothing blocked there at all, at least nothing which is usually blocked on TOT or True

so was wondering that the so claimed government blocks are no real government blocks,, cause if they would be it would be on all providers?

so do you guys know a way to convince True to unblock it, its just annoying and slow to use a openVPN service all of the time

Had the same for years, find that when lots come ups as blocked is time to turn off the router... 10 mins later switch on and the so say blocked websites open fine.

Have you tried using one of the True proxy server settings of:

proxy.trueinternet.co.th port 8080

or

proxy.asianet.co.th port 8080

I'm on the True 20Mb cable/DOCSIS plan and last year I couldn't reach certain U.S. govt web sites unless I had the proxy turned on or used VPN. Now, that problem with those U.S. govt web sites went away late last year. But to this day on occassions when I can't reach a certain website (I don't get any govt notice, I just get a page cannot access note), many times by turning on the proxy setting I can reach it. And when I have to go VPN with a U.S. IP address to reach the site I guess that just means Thailand has blocked the site or that site has blocked access from Thailand. It also seems when the Thai govt wants to block a website they notify the ISP and leave it up to the ISPs to block the sites....I guess some ISP's take action on the govt's request faster than others...and maybe some ISPs just ignore the govt. TIT

Its the time of year, has been turned off around this time for a year or two now, some "holier than thou" gets into a local telephone exchange and blocks the site that I think your after. it will be turned on shortly. You should have downloaded the free YTD ,it works on that site too,but is time expired, when you get the message "ben...." something ,get rid of it and download another one, download as much as you can to carry you through the time of "drought"

I rang the number on screen the local 3BB came round ,said it was the police blocking it ,then showed me other sites just as juicy
