Hi All,

I will be arriving Thailand in April and getting my passport stamped at airport ( 30 days ) I plan to visit Cambodia for a few days by land. On exiting Thailand does that cancel the 30 day permit I received at the airport and then on returning 2-3 days later will I only receive a 15 day permit?

In other words ....do I have to be careful with my dates?

Thanks

Yes correct, when departing Thailand that permission to stay is finished, if entering by land 15 days, if entering by air another 30 days would be issued.

Yes and if you do not have an air ticket within 30 days the trip could be at risk as airline may refuse boarding. If only a short holiday expect not an issue but for many it can be a last minute hinderence or expense to buy a ticket.

I live on 30 day exemptions as I travel to work in Sing and KL a bit each month.

Couple of months ago did my first and only land crossing on way to Angkor Wat for a holiday. On return to Thailand I was stamped with the 30 day. Was this exceptional?

It also depends on your nationality, a few nationalities always get 30 days regardless of traveling by land or air.

And some get 90 days.

90 days stamp for visa exempt?
