What is happening with the power? Today we got cut off three times for 2 to 3 hours each time. The generatortrucks are back at the powerplant! Didn't they finish the job last time? During the day its not a problem, but when you are just taking a shower in the evening and your head full of shampoo! @&*(&$()$ :o

There is a published list of when and where the power will be going off on a daily basis until the 23rd of December(all in thai, obviously). For example Lamai beach road is off every day between 11am and 1pm and then again between 11pm and 1 a.m. It would appear that many hotels have failed to notify their customers of this judging by their bemused looks and questions last night :o

:o It said Koh Pangan, but now it is also Koh Samui!  :D

See post #6 of that link and you will see it is the undersea line from mainland to Samui that need to be repaired so that will effect both islands.

Loiner100, according to the above Chaweng won't have power from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. every day?

Posted (edited)

jerrold, don't take the schedule to serious.

At least they have tried to make a schedule which is a bit rare for Thai's :o

Here the powercuts started one day ahead (16th) , while we now on the other hand have had power since yesterday 17.00 (Baan Chaweng/Tesco area)

What you can see from the schedule is that the powercuts are planned to last no longer

than 2 hours , with 2 hours of power between them.

That's in theory , in practice is another thing..

Yes , no more power cuts - repair work is finnished.

Heard it from a speaker car in Maenam this afternoon.
