I wish I had your confidence for West Coast mate. We can't even win at home

let alone away.

Also just noticed that Kerr is out. Him, plus Shuey and Selwood being out has decimated

our midfield.

Here's hoping anyway.

I was just browsing the injury lists...(maybe i should have before tipping? laugh.png ). Would I have picked WCE if i had seen the players out?

Better not to tell Ron19...he might pick Adelaide smile.png

biggrin.png And done before looking at anyones tips.

New legislation to compel people to give evidence..or face $5000 fines per day.

SMH article here

THE new Federal Sports Minister Don Farrell says key legislation compelling players and officials to attend interviews with the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority and hand over documents will come into effect later this month.

Senator Farrell assumed the posting this week from his predecessor Kate Lundy as part of the returning Prime Minister Kevin Rudd's cabinet reshuffle and has already met and discussed the drugs in sport scandal with sports administrators including NRL chief executive Dave Smith.

Under the enhanced coercive powers granted to ASADA players can be compelled to attend interviews and pass on records of text messages and emails. If they fail to do so the matter can be referred by ASADA to the courts, with a fine of up to $5100 per day they fail to co-operate then able to be issued as a result.

Harry O'Brien out of tonights game.

Is now on personal leave and is rumoured

to have had a falling out with coach Buckley.

It's been very untidy this year for the Pies.

I still hope they beat Malthouses mob tonight thoughbiggrin.png

Thanks for the update. Darren jolley out for 3 weeks also.

Bit of disharmony amongst the players eh?

I'm still rooting for Carlton

And I'm in the minority for the Gold Coast as well.

I couldn't believe the turn-around after it was 7 goals to 2.

I think it fell apart after Waite went down. Didn't surprise me

as he has generally only played about 50% of games available

due to injuries.

I wonder if Port make the finals and Carlton don't, can Malthouse

and Hinkely swap salariesbiggrin.png

I barrack for two sides, the WCE and whoever plays Carlton.

That's going to be a big ask now with Ablett being ruled out Chooka.

If Brissy lose, Vossy may be looking for a new job next year methinks.

is that because of the Malthouse factor or you just dont like Carlton?

What a turnaround indeed! Moving Ben Reid up forward was an inspired move. Speculation that Carlton might be drastically chopping their playing list at season's end

Chooka is sunk for sure.

At least Brisbane should be able to draw level with the GC on points now

Being a West Aussie, I like most of the sides outside of Victoria. Having said that, I don't dislike all of the Victorian sides.

But Malthouse is a huge factor. He treats journos and generally anybody who doesn't agree with him like crap and is always

trying to divert the blame/focus from himself.

Not sure if you saw him "have a go" at Richo post match a couple of weeks ago. You probably couldn't find a nicer bloke

in AFL than Richo so it shows what type of bloke he really is. Tried to show a good side last night by giving some chocolates

to Tim Watson to give to Richo. Everythings stage managed with him.

I remember after losing a final for WCE he was asked a question at the airport he didn't like and he grabbed the journo by the throat. It was left up to an 19 year old Glen Jackovich to separate them. He got away with murder in the West as it was a 1 side town for so long, the media needed him.

What about when he made his famous "I could never coach against my boys (Collingwood), they're family to me".

It took him all of 1 year to coach Carlton and then whinge about Eddie, Buckley etc as if he was hard done by. He

probably earn't around 7 million dollars at Carlton the poor bloke.

Gee BookMan, I guess it is all about Malthousebiggrin.png

Malthouse is a classic diverter of attention and a prick of the highest order. His tactic of being a prick at post match interviews is very clever as it stops a lot of journos asking the hard questions. They are more reticent to 'provoke' him and make their future life difficult.

I saw the Gold Coast coach Mckenna do similar the other week at his post match interview. He was prickly throughout. One of the journos said at the end to Munro 'That's how it works. We ask the questions, you answer them' or words similar.

I hadn't seen the Richo interview until you mentioned it here (link below)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TayJn_Q_IdQ

The Gold Coast interview. The journo telling Mckenna how it works is right at the end of in the interview. None of the journos have the balls to tell Malthouse off.

Misdirection or truth? trying to get GWS to put in a massive offer? $12 million for 6 seasons?

Manager confident Buddy will remain a Hawk

By Jacqui Reed12:20pm AEST Saturday, July 6, 2013

AFL PLAYER manager Liam Pickering has insisted he is 'very confident' his client Lance Franklin will sign a new contract with Hawthorn.

Greater Western Sydney admitted this week it had opened talks with Pickering about luring the Hawks star north, with reports the club is set to offer a massive $12 million, six season contract at Franklin.

However, Pickering said the Giants had yet to offer anything, saying they were involved in preliminary talks only, before adding he believed Franklin would stay with Hawthorn.

Just watching the Roos/Tigers match, what a 1/4 by the roos. They looked very good with silky moves and great skills great to watch. However knowing the roos they fade away in the 2nd half.

They kicked on this time chooka!

Gold Coast could take the game against Brisbane. Playing well without Ablett.

Speaking of gambling... I think im stuffed on the WCE v Adelaide game.

10 minutes into the game and Adelaide came inte $1.22. WCE out to $4.20.

Some late withdrawals for WCE?
