One method is to use a brass or electro tinned split bolt clamp eg, 18mm. A clamp type connection is also compliant. Make sure the connection is clean first. Make the connection then apply a metallic based paint over the connection to minimise corrosion. Zinc or Aluminium based is ideal. The connection should be exposed to the weather and accessable for the purposes of testing and inspection. A compliant connection will last the life of the electrical installation, Source AS3000.
