Since few days back, mostly at night, I'm hardly able to download something or even simply open a web page. W T F is going on with True?

same here

we were advised from a nicer corporation (not the <deleted> from true) that thailand is once again experiencing connectivity problems.Other ISPs have problems too. Its probably too cold...

And here l was thinking that l must have stuffed something up when l changed computers. Last couple of nights have been very patchy, almost impossible to get internet radio and l'm one person who usually doesn't have many problems with True. If l try to use the True/Asianet proxy l cannot connect at all to most websites tonight, but if l just use the standard connection then it's bearable.

I know I'm in the minority but I don't get that many problems with True, sometimes it's slow, occasionally it's unusable, but on the whole I don't find it too bad.

As an aside, I have an Orange sim and True home phone, because of that I get their 'all together bonus' and apart from the Standing charges for my mobile and home phone I pay 0bt for my mobile calls, and the missus spends hours talking to her family on it!

I know we all complain about the rubbish connections and speeds but a lot of it isn't the fault of the ISP's, remember it's all controlled by CAT, that's where the problems begin. If you keep up with the news on the subject, True, amongst others, want to change it, take the monopoly away from CAT, and do it themselves. It will change, I don't know when, but it's gonna happen.

You really think so? I've never seen anyone voluntarily slaughter a cash cow in Thailand. The first priority here is for the greedy and powerful to protect their graft. The second is for everyone to save face. To make something function better or to meet international standards isn't even on the list.

it has changed. TOT just got a liscense for an international gateway. TRUE are not far behind them. Of course it will take time to build it and set it up ... but thank [someone] that the stranglehold HAS been broken.
